Professor Imran Chaudhry
Prof. Imran Chaudhry is a Honorary Professor of Adult Psychiatry in University of Manchester and the Head of Department of Psychiatry in Ziauddin Hospital Karachi. He is also a Visiting Lecturer of Dow University of Health Sciences.
His main area of interest is improving the outcome of drug-treatments in psychosis and to improve access to culturally-adapted cost-effective psychosocial therapies for severe mental illnesses. His work includes being a chief investigator and co-investigator for a number of research projects funded by various grant bodies, such as Medical Research Council, Stanley Medical Research Institute, Welcome Trust, National Institute for Health Research, Grand Challenges Canada, Canadian International Development Foundation, British Council, Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, Department for International Development (DFID), Biomedical Research Centre Kings College London, Global Challenge Research Fund, Maudsley, NHS Foundation Trust and Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning.
